Pelvic health physiotherapy is a specialized area of physical therapy that focuses on the assessment and treatment of various conditions affecting the pelvic floor and surrounding areas like low back, hips and abdominal region. From urinary incontinence and pelvic pain to postpartum recovery and pelvic floor dysfunction, our skilled physiotherapists are here to work with clients to meet their unique individual goals using an evidence-based approach to treatment.

Pelvic health is an essential part of overall well-being, yet it’s often overlooked. At Reconnect Physiotherapy & Wellness, our pelvic floor physiotherapy services are designed to support women at every stage of life—from pregnancy and postpartum recovery to managing chronic pain and menopause. We use evidence-based treatment approaches to restore function, improve confidence, and help you feel like yourself again.

Our Physiotherapists work through a comprehensive assessment of each individual client. We use assessment skills that build from a strong orthopaedic foundation and then add to this approach a full assessment of the pelvic floor. Through this full assessment, we can determine the underlying causes of pelvic health issues. While each client’s treatment plan is unique, they often use soft tissue techniques like local massage, stretching and mobilizations, specific exercises, and equally important education or knowledge.

Commonly Treated Conditions:
- Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse
- Pelvic Pain, Pain with Intercourse, Vaginisimus
- Diastasis Recti
- Cesarean Birth and C- section scar tissue work
- Pelvic Girdle Pain, Chronic Low back pain, Tailbone Pain, Hip Pain
- Pregnancy and Postpartum related concerns
- Pre and Post Surgical Rehabilitation: Hysterectomy, bladder lifts, etc
